Painting Development: Clouds and Atmosphere

This was extremely helpful in understanding how the values, hues and saturations of colour change as things get further away. The saturation lowers, the brightness goes up and the color moves towards cooler tones. I assume this is because in real life there are atmospheric filters which over a longer distance start to turn the reflected colours blue, and also some of the reflected light would be lost and slowed down due to pollutants in the air making the light seem duller, lighter and colder.

The video also listed some important notes about fog and smoke which I will use in my environment as it will probably be a smoggy city setting.
